Welcome! Thanks for checking out the site! I’ve been playing Dynasty Fantasy Football since 2017 and I’ve been a commissioner since 2022. I encountered two problems when I started to obsess over fantasy football. There was no easy way to track trades for my dynasty league and I was spending too much time summarizing my league’s fantasy football matchups each week. Using my background in tech and Sleeper’s free API; I decided to tackle both problems and share the solutions with other fantasy football managers.
The trade tracker part of the site has been my labor of love to create. I built it in Streamlit and posted it to Reddit where it developed a small, but engaged following resulting in 3400 + unique views to date and many DMs. The trade tracker allows for easy navigation to view trades in Sleeper Dynasty leagues and it provides enhanced visibility into trades because it maps the picks to the players the picks turn into (e.g 2024 Round 1 (1.01) ~ Caleb Williams). This free web app aims to provide enhanced visibility into trades to encourage trading behavior and eliminate the laborious manual task of mapping picks to players by hand.
As for the Recap Generator, for the last two years I have been writing recaps for one of my dynasty leagues by hand and I’ve recapped every individual matchup. The idea for this app was born out of the realization that I was spending hours each week recaps manually and I needed to find an automated way to recap all the action to save some time.
Enter my idea to use ChatGPT to write the recaps. This saved me time from writing everything by hand but it was still a bit robotic and to prompt it with all the necessary matchup info still took a great deal of time. The solution was using Sleeper’s free API in conjunction with some python code and prompt engineering to make a recap generator that works with any league. This solution is automated, effective and scales with the help of servers on the cloud. After months of testing and revision I have a product that I am proud of. I have seen a few other tools floating around online that summarize matchups but they tend to provide generalized summaries and they are missing the narrative style that people look forward to and that drives engagement. Every manager gets their time in the sun or doghouse with my recaps. My goal is to produce something that brings a fantasy owner joy for a few minutes when the manager opens up a customized, authentic recap right after the week’s fantasy action concludes. I hope it becomes something to look forward to.
Since the OpenAI credits needed to produce quality recaps cost money and the servers to host my scripts and site are also costly, I must charge for these recaps. The trade tracker will always remain free since I don’t incur cost by hosting it. I don’t believe any other free source on the web tracks dynasty trades like this.
I hope you get some value out of the trade tracking tool! Play around with it and download the trade history of your leagues to csv files to immortalize them. It’s my hope that you’ll generate a recap or two and share them with your league to see if they amplify your fantasy football experience.
